On Tuesday, August 13, at 7:30 p.m., the Ferndale Library will be showing "The Fair in the '40s," a movie produced by the Ferndale Museum. Back then the Humboldt County Fair was five days of horse racing, circus acts, livestock shows, and carnival rides before summer was over. The movie is a fascinating look at the fair during the 1940s, featuring interviews, vintage local footage taken by Jack Tipple, Sr., and plenty of nostalgia. This is a free showing at the library! Running time is just under an hour.
