Ferndale Is Open! Town Is Thankful for Only Minor Earthquake Damage

12/5/24

Ferndale is open!

Fortunately, we appear to have avoided major damage in this morning's earthquake. Thank you, friends of Ferndale, for your well wishes.

✅️ Fernbridge is open. As always, check Caltrans QuickMap for updates. Caltrans says, "A preliminary inspection showed minor damage that can be addressed in project-related activities at a later date."

✅️ Many Ferndale businesses are open tonight as planned (Thursday 12/5), while a few have closed for the day in order to clean up. Check out our Instagram story, where we will do our best to keep you updated.

✅️ We expect Hospitality Night to proceed as planned tomorrow (Friday 12/6 from 5:00-9:00pm). We look forward welcoming visitors as shops and restaurants stay open late to celebrate the holiday season!

✅️ Our Christmas tree — America's tallest lighted living Christmas tree — will continue to be lit for all to enjoy!

✅️ You can check out our full calendar of wonderful holiday events at VisitFerndale.com/events.

Can't make it to an event? Our charming shops, dining, lodging, and outdoor beauty are available year-round, so plan your next trip today!

Thanks again, friends! We're so grateful for you, first responders, and all who jumped into action today to make sure all were safe. We are a very lucky community indeed.
